Meet Celina Patterson

I'm an LCSW, born and raised in the Bronx. I'm also a parent, and for many years I worked inside schools alongside teachers, principals, and school staff. This has given me a front-row seat to just how much educators carry, often while quietly holding trauma of their own so they can show up for everyone else. That's a big part of why I especially love working with educators, though I welcome teens (13+) and adults carrying the weight of trauma, anxiety, and life's harder transitions. I also bring a lot of experience working with parents, including trauma that shows up in the way we parent, whether that's supporting parents through their own history or helping them navigate the ups and downs of raising kids.

Trauma is at the center of my clinical work. I'm trained in Trauma-Focused CBT and trauma-informed CBT, and I draw on person-centered therapy and play therapy; including with adult clients-- for those who process trauma better through creativity and hands-on tools than through talk alone.

Every session ends with "bright spots," naming three good moments from the week, because healing from trauma isn't only about revisiting what's hard it's also about rebuilding the capacity to notice what's good.
